Our commitment

More and more, we are all becoming aware of the environmental cost of products with short life cycles.

Every piece we make is designed and built to last for lifetime. We want our fine jewelry designs to be in families for generations, so we use only the finest materials.

We believe true sustainability starts at the design stage, up until it reaches our customers!

This vision guides us in every step of the making our designs.

Our pieces are all handmade and we mostly use Moissanite.

Why we use Moissanite

What is Moissanite, and why do we like it?

Moissanite is a naturally occurring mineral made of silicon carbide.

It was discovered by Nobel Prize winning French Chemist, Henri Moissan while examining rock samples from a meteorite, hence, it's moniker as the “a gem born of the stars.”

Nearly all Moissanite that exists today is produced in a laboratory due to its extremely rare occurrence in nature.

The lab reproduces the natural conditions in which the gemstone is originally created in Nature.

And because Moissanite is lab-grown, it is conflict-free: they require zero mining to produce, so their origins are easily traceable.

Because it doesn’t use the Earth’s natural resources there is a significant difference in carbon footprint compared to diamonds. Diamonds have a heavy carbon footprint—so if a more ethical and sustainable purchase is important to you, Moissanite is the stone for you.

How does it compare to natural diamonds?

To the naked eye, Moissanite and diamonds share a very similar appearance and are almost impossible to tell apart.

Moissanite is the world’s second hardest mineral, second only to diamond. It’s also more durable than other gemstones, so it’s less likely to get scratched or damaged.

Moissanite is sparklier than a diamond: it has a higher Refractive Index (RI) (2.65) than diamonds (2.42).

Finally, they're more budget friendly, so a real plus for Mother Nature AND your wallet!

What about lab-grown diamonds?

The other alternative is lab-grown diamonds. In every way, they are real diamonds.

The technology simply recreates the conditions necessary to grow a diamond above the Earth’s surface. This is done by placing a small diamond “seed” in a tightly-controlled environment, where the diamond grows, layer-by-layer, just as it would in the natural process – but without wreaking havoc on the environment to mine them from the Earth.

Not to speak of the treatment of the people mining those diamonds!

And don't worry, we can still make your order with a natural diamond!

When we do use diamonds for special orders, we make sure to check origin and certifications.
