Antique Replica
As part of my Jewelry Design studies at Shenkar, I made an exact replica of an. Etruscan Grappolo Earring.
The original can be found at the MET Museum in New-York.
The process was one of the best learning experience I've ever had.
Description of the jewel: Gold Etruscan Grappolo - Horseshoe earrings. This type of earring is called a grappolo (in Italian, like a grape cluster) because the triangle of circular bosses at the base of the front recalls a bunch of grapes. This type of hoop earring is decorated with a horseshoe-shaped plate. Date/Period: 4th–early 3rd century B.C (Late Classical) Type: Earring Country: Italy (Etruscan culture) Techniques: Repoussé and granulation
